It was no surprise to anyone in the football community that this New Orleans Native would take the world by storm one day. Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu attended St. Augustine High School where he shattered records and ultimately was invited to participate in the inaugural ‘Team USA vs. The World’ game. His talent on the field was unparalleled and would later earn him a four-star recruit rating by rivals.com and go on to receive an athletic scholarship to the highly acclaimed, Louisiana State University (LSU).

His star power and undeniable prowess on the gridiron would only continue to thrive at Louisiana State. In his first year with the Tigers, Tyrann was named ‘Most Outstanding Defensive Player’ of the 2011 Cotton Bowl Classic. His sophomore year was one for the books. Tyrann added All American honors, First Team All SEC, SEC Defensive MVP, SEC Championship Game MVP, and an SEC Championship Win to his resume and was even nominated for the prestigious Heisman Award.

It was during his college career the "Honey Badger" took flight and catapulted Tyrann from football superstardom, to a mega star with a household name. The heavily sought after star was fielding inquiries from all over the spectrum. The media loved him, fans couldn’t get enough of him, and agents were chomping at the bit to be a part of his empire. With a performance like Tyrann’s in the 2012 year, it was obvious that he would easily transition into an NFL star. In the 2012 draft, Tyrann was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals where he would play alongside his best friend and former teammate, Patrick Peterson. The unstoppable duo established a bond during their college years together which remains tight to this day. In his 3rd season with the Arizona Cardinals, Mathieu made an indelible mark as one the team’s top defensive assists. Earning himself his first Pro Bowl bid.

While Tyrann continues to focus on his growth as an athlete, he has taken considerable measures to make his own personal growth a priority. With the guidance of trusted mentors and friends, Tyrann has conquered personal obstacles that have haunted him since childhood; obstacles most cannot even begin to imagine, let alone bounce back from. His strength and perseverance through the hard times made him stronger than ever and he believes this year will be his best year yet – both on and off the field.

Tyrann is no stranger to the spotlight and has a unique, charming and undeniable charisma in front of the camera. He has appeared on major media platforms such as NFL Network, ESPN, Films, CBS Sports Network, FOX Sports and more. Tyrann’s infectious smile and spirit has landed him covers of prestigious publications such as ESPN The Magazine and Sports Illustrated. He is passionate about acting and being on camera and plans to develop his acting and on-camera skills in his downtime.
