Dashon “The Hawk” Goldson was born September 18, 1984 to Jamaican parents. Earning the nickname from his unparalleled wingspan, Dashon has been an athletic force to be reckoned with since he was a young boy. Parents and coaches were aware of his extraordinary athletic abilities all along, but it wasn’t until high school that Dashon began to truly believe that he had what it took to make it to the NFL. An unrelenting work ethic and a “whatever it takes” attitude, Dashon earned a full ride scholarship to the University of Washington, where he would play 43 games and recorded a total of 293 tackles, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack. In 2006, Dashon graduated with a degree in American Ethnic Studies and in addition, received a coveted invitation to the NFL combine and was drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2007 NFL draft.
Prior to the 2011 season, Dashon was an unrestricted free agent. He decided to sign a 1 year contract and re-sign with the 49ers and was named to his first career Pro Bowl. He had a career-high of 6 interceptions and 9 pass deflections during the regular season and is now known to be one of the hardest hitting safeties in the NFL. Goldson recorded 69 tackles, one forced fumble, and 3 interceptions over the 2012 season. After entering into free agency in 2013, Goldson signed a 5 year $41.5 million dollar contract with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Dashon’s contract is said to be “the biggest free agent contact ever”.
Dashon’s lengthy list of accomplishments does not begin nor does it end on the gridiron. He has a true passion for high fashion, exotic cars, the arts and is a thriving entrepreneur. Dashon is very active in each of these areas and when given the opportunity to explore each area, he surpasses even his own expectations. Dashon owns several franchises and is an avid real estate investor. Additionally, he is opening a high end cigar lounge in Ladera Heights, CA.
