Michael Thomas of the Miami Dolphins is one of the most versatile players in the NFL. With him being able to play safety, defensive back and be a key contributor to special teams he is a football phenomenon.
To add to his adaptability, he was a quarterback at Nimitz High School in Houston Texas! He was scouted by then Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh while he was looking at current Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. But Thomas caught his attention and he knew this was a player he wanted on his team.
ESPN.com had rated him as the 75th best athlete in the nation! He played football, basketball and ran track throughout high school. He was recruited by schools like Boise State, Missouri, Iowa State, Northwestern and Vanderbilt but he wanted to go to be a part of the restoration of the football program and a tradition-rich program at Stanford.
He made an impression on Coach Harbough throughout his collegiate career which ultimately lead Harbaugh picking up Thomas as an undrafted free agent to the 49ers in 2012. He continued to work hard for the 49ers, and then was signed to the Miami Dolphins in 2013.
In Michael’s first career NFL game against the New England Patriots he broke up a key touchdown pass and intercepted quarterback Tom Brady with seconds left in the game to seal the victory for the Dolphins. He had only been on the team for 4 days and this was the first victory against the Patriots in 4 years! Michael is also a 2X Pro Football Focus All-Pro player!
Throughout high school and college Michael was active in theatre arts. Film and acting have always been a passion for him. He decided to continue his education and graduated from the University of Miami, receiving his MBA. He also enrolled in the Miami Acting School this offseason!
