It was quite obvious that Patrick Peterson was destined for glory when he played at the high-school level at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida. This standout NFL Cornerback is known not only for his presence as a playmaker on the field, but also for his larger than life personality. With a laundry list of exceptional talents both on and off the field, and enough charisma to charm even the worst of critics, the young Patrick Peterson has won the hearts of fans across the board. This bright young star has paved the way to a long lasting and powerful career in the NFL. Patrick was a top draft prospect out of high school and went on to play three seasons at Division 1 level for Louisiana State University. In 2010, Patrick earned SEC Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team all SEC.
After such an impressive college career, Peterson was selected fifth overall in the 2011 Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. In the Cardinal’s season opener, and Peterson’s NFL debut, Peterson returned a punt 89-yards for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Peterson’s punt return for a touchdown helped the Cardinals defeat the Panthers 28-21, and was his first of four punts returned for a touchdown. Peterson’s four punt returns for a touchdown tied the NFL record, with returns coming in the clutch. On defense, Peterson started all 16 games of the 2011 season at cornerback. Peterson’s play on both sides of the ball made his name known and helped him earn a spot on the 2011 NFC Pro Bowl roster, while be the only rookie named to the 2011 All-Pro team. No surprise to anyone, Patrick also had a remarkable second season with the Cardinals and has been to selected to the Pro Bowl each of his three years in the NFL! Throughout his short time as a Cardinal, Patrick has worked tirelessly to secure and maintain his starting position and to continues to yield high level of play and thus a strong impact on the team.
While Patrick enjoys the success on the gridiron, Patrick knows that his role on the team does not begin and end there. Peterson tirelessly gives back to the community and is looking forward to using 2014 to continue to develop and nurture his own foundation, The Foundation for Success. As the oldest child of five and a young, married player in the NFL, Patrick knows how having a support system around as a child, can shape and impact young, impressionable minds. His Foundation aims to give all youth a safe haven to turn to and a place that delivers hope, encourages positive direction, and inspires purpose in their lives and encourage our youth to build successful and productive lives. This past summer, Patrick hosted his first annual Football Camp in his hometown in Florida, where 100 children had the chance to participate in a free football camp. Patrick also fancies himself as a Fashion Enthusiast and hopes to continue to develop and design his t-Shirt brand, 21 Threads.
Patrick is no stranger to the spotlight and is very comfortable in front of the media . In the past year, Patrick was selected to be the face of an national advertising campaign for Eastbay and was chosen as to participate in the “Thank you to NFL Fans”, commercial that aired during Super Bowl XLVII. With his incredibly good looks and charming smile, it is no surprise that the media flock to him. He has graced the pages of Athletes Quarterly Magazine, 202 Magazine, RIDES Magazine, STACK and Sports Illustrated, just to name a few. He can regularly be seen on ESPN, NFL Network, Young Hollywood, CBS Sports Network and Fox Sports, among others. His educated and classy demeanor makes him a media favorite!
With all of his success on and off the field, it is clear that Patrick makes a habit of giving everything he has to his career, his foundation and his family.
